Laleshwari : The First Guru of the Shaktipat Tradition

The most important figure in the tradition of Kashmiri Shaivism is Laleshwari, also known as Lal Ded or Lal Arifa. Her spiritual legacy is deeply related to the lineage of Shaktipat. Famed for her intense mysticism, ecstatic poetry, and spiritual teachings, Laleshwari is considered the first guru who introduced the Shaktipat tradition within the context of Kashmiri Shaivism and thus is an important figure in Indian spirituality.
